Recently, 10 buried garbage bins were put into use on the road from the Award Square in Chongli District, Zhangjiakou to the District Urban Investment Company.
The buried garbage bin has two types of body: recyclable and non recyclable, consisting of three parts: the ground box body, the inner box, and the box cover. The entry box body and lid are made of metal material. The entry box body is fixed underground, and the lid is placed on the sidewalk, basically level with the sidewalk tiles. The protruding part is less than 5 centimeters, which will not cause inconvenience to pedestrians. The lid is equipped with a rotating pedal. When throwing garbage, simply press the pedal with your foot to open the lid. After releasing the pedal, the lid will close on its own. The solar light on the box cover not only emits light at night, but also provides voice broadcasting in both Chinese and English. The material and contour of the inner box are similar to that of a regular garbage bin, and it is placed in the body of the underground bin. Two pulleys are installed at the bottom for easy lifting by sanitation personnel.
"The traditional garbage bins are not tightly sealed, making it easy for garbage and odors to spread out. This not only affects the appearance, but also attracts mosquitoes and flies in spring and summer, causing secondary pollution," said the person in charge of the Chongli District Urban and Rural Management Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, "The garbage storage space of the buried garbage bin is set underground, and the box is tightly sealed, which makes up for the shortcomings of traditional garbage bins. When cleaning garbage, the garbage truck's own power is used to lift the inner box, which can easily clean the garbage. The underground garbage bin's entry box and inner box are relatively sturdy and not easy to break, and the corresponding size of the discharge port can also be determined according to needs."
It is understood that the section from Chongli District Awards Square to District Urban Investment Company is 500 meters long, and a buried garbage bin is installed every 50 meters. If the usage effect is good, it will be gradually installed on the main roads and some residential areas in the urban area according to the situation. It is planned to install 1000 sets of buried garbage bins in the Chongli urban area and put them into use within the year.
