Starting from October 1, 2020, Sanya, Hainan Province will implement household waste classification work throughout the city, and a household waste classification and treatment system will be basically completed by 2022. As of the end of 2020, a total of 135 smart garbage houses, 254 sets of smart garbage houses, and 184 garbage sorting booths were built in the city, equipped with 47753 household garbage sorting bins and 5914 public household garbage sorting bins. 140000 promotional materials were distributed, sparking a wave of garbage sorting in the city.
Sanya citizens: It's not difficult to sort garbage. We hope everyone develops good habits
Walking through the streets and alleys of Sanya, intelligent garbage sorting equipment can be seen everywhere, becoming a beautiful scenery on the streets. The small intelligent garbage sorting equipment gradually gathers the awareness of citizens to cultivate garbage sorting.
"Kitchen waste", "other waste", "paper recycling", "plastic recycling", "metal recycling", "takeaway waste"... At a smart waste sorting and disposal point in a community in Sanya, the smart waste disposal box is marked with the corresponding words for various recyclables, and each word is followed by a garbage bin. When residents throw garbage, they can open different garbage bin lids by swiping cards or scanning codes for sorting and disposal.
"With these words, it's easy for us to distinguish what kind of garbage should be thrown where," said Ms. Chen, a resident of the community. Over the past three months of implementing garbage classification, everyone's awareness has gradually increased, from initially feeling troublesome to now becoming a habit. "I hope every citizen can develop a good habit of garbage sorting, so that our urban environment can become better and better," Ms. Chen said.
"Scan the QR code and you can put it in, it's very convenient." Mr. Huang, a resident of a certain community, is putting the sorted garbage into an intelligent garbage bin. He said that with the strong promotion of relevant departments and volunteers, citizens' awareness of garbage classification is gradually improving. More and more people are actively participating in garbage classification actions and gradually developing the habit of garbage classification.
The data analysis behind garbage classification and disposal is also refreshing. Visualization of garbage classification work is achieved through data processing, with electronic screens displaying real-time data such as the amount of garbage placed in each garbage bin, the proportion of various types of garbage placed, the full capacity of garbage bins, the daily delivery times of residents, and the weight of garbage.
"The intelligent garbage sorting house will collect the trajectory of residents' delivery behavior, effectively classify and process garbage, and achieve the resource utilization and reduction of household waste." Mr. Li, the project leader of the intelligent garbage sorting house, introduced that the daily, monthly, and annual total amount of garbage disposal in each community and household will be recorded with big data. The participation of residents in garbage sorting will be calculated through the number of times and weight of garbage disposal, and the high score will be evaluated Residents who participate in garbage classification will be rewarded, and for those who rank lower, staff will help residents improve their awareness of garbage classification through door-to-door promotion and other means, striving to achieve full coverage of garbage classification.
